This page is nothing more that a set of lists. These are not complete, but they will grow as I think of things to add. Consider them something to ponder...

thematic double features
If I owned a cinema and had access to every movie ever made, I would probably run thematic double features. Below is a list of these, but its up to you to determine what the theme is. Links are to the appropriate entry on IMDB.
unfilmable movies
At one time, it was said that The Lord of the Rings was unfilmable. I think the following books are, for one reason or another, unfilmable.
- The Mote in God's Eye - Though with computer animation the moties could be rendered, the story of how the humans discover their secret is too complex to fit into a 2 to 3 hour time frame.
- Rendezvous with Rama - The sense of wonder that permeates the book would be lost in a film. Jurassic Park captured that feeling when the dinosaurs first appeared, but then it was lost when they became familiar.
- The Lensman Series - Too many books with too much going on - and add to that a story told in a way that most modern audiences would shy away from.
- At the Mountains of Madness - Once again the SFX are there, but I think the weirdness of Lovecraft is impossible to capture on screen.
- By His Boostraps - Once again, the twistiness of the story would certianly be lost on celluoid.
- The Silmarillion - It's too many stories in one volume - maybe Beren and Luthien or The Fall of Gondolin, but to tell the whole thing would be too much!
